DESCRIPTION:

 

We have an opportunity for a school leaver looking for experience within the cost management & business consultancy sector. The role is for an initial 3 month period leading to a permanent role for successful candidates. This is a great opportunity to learn and earn with great career prospects for those trainees who demonstrate potential during their training period. The 3 month training period will include training on sales & marketing, admin, customer service, contracts management and account management.

Duties

  • Handle inbound calls from Cooperative members and outbound calls to members, internal departments and suppliers.
  • Deal with enquries from both existing and prospective members.
  • Liaise with internal partners and suppliers
  • Contract management
  • Appointment booking - work with our growth team and Regional Operators.  Contact businesses across the country and book in appointments, manage existing appointments and co-ordinate bookings with our Regional Operator offices.
  • Social Media management
  • Registering new members and creating new accounts


Experience

  • No work experience is required for this role.
  • Candidates should be articulate, outgoing, well presented and organised.
  • Candidates should have a willingness to learn.
  • Candidates should be able to work on their own and as part of a team.
  • Must have good basic numeracy skills
  • All other training will be provided during the initial three month period.


Skills & Knowledge Objectives


The trainee role is designed to help prepare school leavers with practical working knowledge within the sales, service and admin sectors.  During the initial 3 month training period, trainees can expect to gain experience in:


  • Customer Service skills
  • Sales techniques
  • Using CRM systems 
  • Using MS Office packages
  • Utility and Merchant Service contract management
  • General Admin
  • Data Management
  • Marketing


As such,  this training role is an opportunity for school leavers to gain experience across a number of areas of the Cooperative business from sales to service.  This will provide invaluable experience to include on CV's for future prospective employers. For the right individuals, permanent employment may be offered within the Cooperative at the end of the initial 3 month training.  The role is part time flexible Monday to Friday with 0900-1200 and 1400 - 1700 shifts. The role may progress to a full or part time permanent position. The successful candidates will undergo continual performance monitoring. Minimum wage applies to this role. Candidates who progress into a permanent role will undergo a package review prior to any permanent appointment within the Cooperative.


We have immediate starts available for the right candidates. Recruitment process will comprise of a telephone and face to face interview in either our Glasgow or East Kilbride office during normal office hours.  As this training role will involve handling confidential & sensitive information, all trainees will be required to sign a non disclosure document.  References will also be required.  These can be provided by high school teachers, career advisors or any other suitable professional referee.

We are searching for talented individuals to take on their own dedicated Cooperative territory as an Area Operator. We will set you up with everything you need to start building your own business with no set up costs or catches whatsoever. 


With the full backing of the Cooperative, you will grow your own membership base within your designated territory helping member businesses to reduce their operating costs, grow and earn with our unique business offering. You will have access to the latest technology and systems to help you grow your own membership base.  


You will be tasked with bringing on new member businesses and this will initially be focussed on our new Solus payments product. You will then undergo ongoing training to allow you to discuss and sign members up on a range of additional products such as water, insurance, finance and commercial waste.

The Opportunity:

The Cooperative help businesses reduce operating costs, resolve issues, increase profitability and are rewarded with regular cashback as part of our Member Payback scheme. We unite the businesses of Scotland to secure more transparent, affordable and fairer essential services & products for their benefit. Membership is free for life offering an invaluable tool for any business owner to become more efficient and profitable . 


As an area Operator, you would be responsible for signing up new members and signing them up for our range of services & products. Initially you would be leading with our new Solus payment processing product and would be upskilled to sell a wide range of other solutions as part of our ongoing Operator development. Once a new business is onboarded, you would work with the owners/managers/directors to identify their expenditure across all their essential services and beyond. Using our tools and training, you would then generate a member report which would details savings, areas for improvement as well as any member payback they would be entitled to. Once complete, you would be responsible for the entire contract management process through to hand off to the supplier. 


You would also be responsible for any liaison with the supplier and the Coop where additional information is required to complete the contract. You will continue to engage with your member base regularly identifying any new opportunities and managing renewals as well as ensuring high levels of member satisfaction. This will further increase your earnings if managed properly.


Earning potential:

You can expect to earn between £60k and £100k in your first year. Of course, there is the potential to earn more and you will get out of this opportunity what you put in. Your earnings are paid as a combination of commission and ongoing revenue share for payments products. For payments products you will be paid daily with revenue share being paid monthly for the life of all contracts. 


Operators will also be eligible for Platinum commercials meaning your annual gross earnings is around £95,000 for hitting the platinum performance levels. You will be responsible for all aspects of finance and book keeping as this is an independent role with the backing and support of the Cooperative.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in B2B sales, preferably within a Utility, payments or financial services environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to use bespoke software systems for contract management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
  • Ethical approach to selling. We take a zero tolerance approach to any mis-selling. Our products and services do not need to be 'hard sold'
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • A mobile phone is required for this role with data as this is used to complete contracts
  • Car owner preferred
